We are so pleased this event is still taking place this year.   St Catherine's students are of such a high level in this tournament and we look forward to sharing it virtually with our community.   The aim of the competition is to promote rhetorical skills in the English language in schools.

This year's Panhellenic Forensics Competition is scheduled to take place on April 1st - 2nd - 3rd - 4th, and will be online. We are looking for students who are interested in representing the school in the following events:

• Oral Interpretation of Literature (reading allowed a comic or dramatic extract)
• Monologue (either dramatic or comic - this replaces the traditional duet acting event which cannot take place this year due to Covid)
• Oratory (where you write and perform an original speech)
• Group Discussion (where you discuss a controversial issue with representatives from other schools)
• Impromptu Speaking (where you have 1 1/2 minutes to prepare a short speech
• Debate

There will be tryouts for all the events except Debate immediately after half-term. The debate team will be selected according to past record and seniority.
