The Futures Team warmly invites Year 12 parents to The Futures Journey, a morning Partnership with Parents session on Wednesday 21 October, 8.40–9.30 a.m., in the Upper School Theatre.
Building on our recent University Week, Beyond the Brochure, we will explore why the beginning of the IB Diploma marks such an important stage in the university and careers guidance journey. While students are not expected to have their futures mapped out, Year 12 is the time to move from early exploration towards more active, purposeful and independent research.
We will explain how the Futures Team supports students as they begin navigating different university systems, exploring courses and pathways, understanding entry requirements and admissions processes, and, importantly, considering what makes a university the right “fit” for them. We will also outline the key milestones over the next two years, including how students can make effective use of Unifrog, university encounters, experiential learning opportunities and individual guidance as they gradually develop their plans. We will also discuss the important role parents can play in supporting this process, encouraging independence while helping their children navigate the many possibilities ahead.
There will be time for questions, and we warmly encourage you to join us in person.
