We act for Peace
One of the incredible strengths of St Catherine's community is the way our families respond to, care and support those in need. Thank you to our school community who have responded quickly to the call for action to make a difference in the lives of those impacted in this crisis.
There are many organisations outside of the St Catherine's community that currently require assistance for the crisis in Ukraine. We have listed some of the ways you can support below and we ask you to please share your resources on this page ( e-mail developmentoffice@stcatherines.gr)
Let's do this last important collection before the end of term together for the Ukrainian families!
IB CAS student Odysseas was invited by the Mayor of Kifissia to visit Ukrainian families hosted by the Municipality in the Zanneio institution in Drosia. The collection of items will be donated directly to the Ukrainian families.
Thank you so much for your help and support!
Donated items will be collected at the Lower School Welcome House and the Upper School Guard's Hut
until Thursday 23th June
Thank you to all our community for your donations for this very worthy cause.
Mr Vassiliou and his son Stavros (our IB student ) collected the donations and drove to Ukraine this Easter to deliver them safely to the Ukrainian families in need. Well done for this amazing effort!
Our school will be collecting continuously and will let you know the deadline for when the next drive will be.
Thank you for making a difference in the lives of the Ukrainian families in need!

UNICEF prioritizes the safety of children, especially those who have been separated from their families.
UNICEF has already ensured the safe transport of drinking water by truck to conflict-affected areas and provides humanitarian and psychosocial emergency care. At the same time, it works with municipalities to ensure that this assistance reaches the children and families in need immediately. War is not a choice of any child and never in his interest. "Help us to protect children in Ukraine." You can donate to the UNICEF website to support Unicef humanitarian aid in Ukraine.

Help the International Rescue Committee send vital supplies to displaced children and families.

Take part in our #SunflowerSolidarity campaign
We stand in solidarity with the people of Ukraine and with all people who have been forced to flee their homes. We believe every person has the right to feel safe; to live freely, without the threat of violence or persecution. We have found that gardens and the act of gardening can help bring us together and share common ground.
The sunflower is the national flower of Ukraine. Gardener to gardener we invite you to sow a sunflower seed, nurture it and enjoy it. Plant one for yourself, and consider planting one for someone unable to sow the seeds they had so looked forward to nurturing this spring.
If you’re planting with children or want a fun activity to bring the seed sowing to life, you might like our Lenny Lemon ‘sunflower pot people’ activity sheet, created in conjunction with the Royal Horticultural Society. It’s ideal for families and classroom settings and a range of age groups.
