Our Year 1 & 2 sports activity sessions were a great success with lots of sunshine and smiley faces. Our Year 6 Sports Leaders did a fantastic job organising and running the events, huge thank you and well done to all the Year 6 children. Also well done to the children from Year 1 & 2  for participating and made such an effort, showed great sportsmanship!

St Catherine’s hosted the first Tag rugby tournament of the year together with Campion and St Lawrence. Our Year 4, 5 & 6 players thoroughly enjoyed themselves and showed off the skills they have been working on in the club this year. Great fun was had by all, well done to everyone involved!

On a bright and sunny day, the Year 5 & 6 children had a fun and exciting sports day at Pefki Stadium. They participated in a variety of athletic events using the QuadKids programme for the first time. The QuadKids model is a nationally proven athletics concept that includes the four core disciplines of running, throwing, jumping and sprinting.

The events included an 80m sprint, a 300m run, a standing long jump, and a nerf throw. The children showed great enthusiasm, skill and sportsmanship as they cheered for their teammates and challenged themselves to do their best. The teachers and parents were also impressed by the level of participation and enjoyment displayed by the students! Our pupils had a chance to experience different aspects of athletics, such as endurance, speed, agility and strength. They also learned about teamwork, fair play and self-improvement!

The students enjoyed the warm and pleasant atmosphere as they cheered for their friends and rivals. The day ended on a high with the excitement of the relays, the races were thrilling and very close, with some teams winning by a narrow margin. The students celebrated their victories and congratulated their opponents! They had a chance to showcase their athletic abilities, challenge themselves and have fun.

Last weekend we hosted the ASIS basketball friendly tournament for Lower school.  The weekend was extremely successful, we played 4 matches in total, we gained valuable experience and  explored a variety of tactics. Great sportsmanship was on display and all the players were amazing, well done everyone involved!
