Something innovative and unique is taking shape behind the scenes in the Theatre department at St Catherine’s this season! With work starting as early as last January, rehearsals are well underway for this year’s Senior School Play, Remember to Smile, a thought-provoking original theatrical production that will take to the stage on 27th and 28th November 2026.

At the heart of this year’s production is something truly remarkable: an original play written by the talented Ms Voutsadakis developed from the creativity, imagination and voices of our very own students and brought to life through the dedication and collaborative spirit of the St Catherine’s Senior Theatre Ensemble.

Following Ms Voutsadakis’ initial concept, three lunchtime workshops brought students together to explore characters, develop ideas and create short scenes. These early contributions became the foundation of the original script, which has continued to evolve through collaboration, creativity and rehearsals.

And the creativity extends far beyond the stage!

Now, with 40 students performing across two casts and 21 dedicated crew members, our Senior Theatre Ensemble is working hard to bring this original story to life.

Over recent weeks, our student crew has been busy painting sets, preparing lighting and supporting rehearsals backstage. Their dedication, teamwork and attention to detail are essential to creating the world of Remember to Smile and their contribution deserves a special round of applause!

As rehearsals continue and the stage magic takes shape, excitement is building for what promises to be a memorable celebration of creativity, collaboration and dedication.
