St Catherine’s British School, home to the highest published 2025 IB results in Athens, has launched a new IB Scholarship Programme celebrating academic excellence, sporting prowess, and artistic flair – whether that is in the performing, musical or visual arts. Offering up to 100 percent fee remission, the initiative reflects the school’s commitment to making the transformative experience of a St Catherine’s education accessible to outstanding students.
St Catherine’s is a leader in International Baccalaureate education in Greece, delivering consistently outstanding results that place it among the top international schools in Europe. The IB at St Catherine’s empowers students to reach their full potential through a curriculum that balances intellectual challenge with personal development, preparing them to meet an ever-changing world with confidence, adaptability, creativity, and resilience.
“At St Catherine’s, we know that exceptional talent can be found everywhere,” said Mr Jon Perriss, Principal of St Catherine’s British School. “Our IB Scholarship Programme reflects both who we are and what we value – academic excellence, integrity, and opportunity. It enables outstanding young people to access the transformative experience of a St Catherine’s education, one that prepares them to flourish with curiosity, confidence, and compassion in an ever-changing world.”
St Catherine’s IB Programme is known for its balance of academic challenge and personal growth. With an average IB score of 37.3 points, over 43% of students achieving 40 points or more, and a 98% pass rate across more than 1,100 graduates, the school continues to set the standard for IB excellence in Greece. Its faculty includes over 20 registered IB examiners, bringing deep expertise to the classroom.
“When we introduced the IB Diploma at St Catherine’s more than twenty years ago, our aim was to build a programme that would prepare young people not only for university, but for life beyond school,” said Dr Stuart Bond, Head of Upper School and the architect of the IB Diploma Programme at St Catherine’s. “Two decades later, the results speak for themselves. Not only do our IB graduates get accepted to some of the most prestigious institutions in the world; they also thrive in such an elite university environment because of the strong foundations our IB Diploma programme provides. This new scholarship initiative continues that tradition, opening the door for more talented students to experience an education that challenges them to think deeply, act purposefully, and make a meaningful impact.”
The introduction of the programme has been made possible through the generosity of donors and supporters within the St Catherine’s community. Looking ahead, the IB Scholarship Programme will become one of the key initiatives supported by the St Catherine’s Together for Tomorrow Fund, the school’s new annual fund launching in January 2026.
Prospective students and families are invited to learn more about the St Catherine’s IB Programme at the GCSE & IB Options Evening on 20 November 2025, where they can explore the IB experience at St Catherine’s, meet Senior staff, Academic Heads of Department, and hear directly from current IB students. Applications for the IB Scholarship Programme close on 31 December 2025 for a start in September 2026.
