St. Catherine’s Class of 2026 Mark Their Final Day in School

Honouring Their Final Day in School - From Heartfelt Moments to Joyful Celebrations

Last Friday, just before the start of the Easter holidays, the corridors of St. Catherine’s were filled with laughter, excitement, inspired memes, and a touch of nostalgia as the Class of 2026 celebrated their final day in school.

It was a day filled with memories as our Year 13 students reflect on their journey through the school — starting here as young children and now preparing to leave as soon-to-be St. Catherine’s alumni. Not a goodbye, but a celebration of memories and the remarkable path that has shaped them.

Throughout the day, students came together to capture photographs, share stories and relive the friendships, milestones and experiences that have defined their years at St. Catherine’s.

🎓 The celebrations began with a heartfelt visit to the Lower School, where students reunited with teachers who first guided them and where so many of their earliest school memories began. Walking once again through the classrooms and corridors where their journey first started was a powerful reminder of how far they have come.

🎓 Next came a lively Piñata celebration, organised by the IB Senate, bringing laughter, excitement and a touch of playful chaos to the day as classmates gathered one more time to celebrate the bonds they have built over the years.

🎓 The final stop was the IB Rooftop, where the Senate hosted a celebratory barbecue and prepared a special surprise for the Class of 2026.

The excitement reached new heights when a surprise celebrity guest made an appearance courtesy of the IB Senate - Gio Kay - sparking an enthusiastic reaction from students and adding an unforgettable highlight to the celebrations.

As the day ended, the final moments unfolded in the Upper School Foyer, where the Class of 2026 gathered by the nest one last time as students. Before the final bell could ring, Year 12 students gathered in the upper balcony to wish the graduating class farewell by releasing confetti into the air, filling the foyer with colour and celebration. In a scene of cheers, applause and many emotional moments, the falling confetti marked the symbolic end of the day - and of a chapter that began many years ago when these students first walked through the doors of St. Catherine’s as young children.

More than a celebration, the day was a meaningful milestone for a remarkable group of students — honouring the friendships, experiences and shared moments that have shaped them over the years. As the Class of 2026 now turns their focus to the upcoming IB examinations, we wish them the very best of luck in this important final stage of their school journey, and we look forward to celebrating together at their graduation ceremony.
