Lower School has started to trial and introduce 'Forest Schools' outdoor learning opportunities for our children.
Forest School is an inspirational holistic process that offers learners regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem. During Forest School sessions, children will be exposed to various learning experiences such as:
Having the opportunity to explore our natural area
Foraging for resources to create natural sculptures
Playing games
Climbing trees
Involvement in decision making
Learning how to tie simple knots
Helping put up a temporary shelter
Reflecting on their learning
Relaxing and taking time to breathe
Most of all they will have fun while they learn!
On the day of their Forest School session, children were asked “on a scale of 1 (really bad) - 10 (really good), how good was your day?”. This is what they said:
“A million, I feel great, it was brilliant! “ - Leo
“Infinity, I feel really happy” - Anna
“A billion, it was amazing!” - Stavros
