As Giving Tuesday on 1st December approaches it makes us think about how we can give back in these very uncertain times. St Catherine's  invites you to join us on this global day of generosity and be inspired to give back from your heart with community in mind.

GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a day that encourages people to do good and this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give back and celebrate generosity. This year Giving Tuesday will take place on December 1, 2020.

Here are some ways to give back:

  • #actofkindness

Know your neighbour! Be kind and do an act of kindness, help your neighbours in need, say thank you, share a skill with a colleague!

  • #supportourstudents

Our favourite way to give back is through our student initiatives,: with our CAS students and their projects; our senior Senate; and all the charities the Lower School and Upper School students support with all their efforts.  Here are just a few where you can make a difference:

HowDoYouThankAHero  support the fight against COVID-19, in our local hospitals with their everyday fight to keep us all safe

Stray Animals Athens  give a stray a "Forever Home" and make an animal feel loved today

Replant Europe  #StCatsCombat sign the petition against deforestation.  This project is close to our heart as we understand the importance even more now that we have become a 'Forest School' with our Lower School pupils and the importance of outside learning

  • #StCatsConnect   #supportcommunity

Join the e-mentoring programme to give back to alumni and senior students.  This such an important community project where the philosophy is ' when you move up you  hold out a helping hand to those coming up',  This is where our 'circle of community' starts, Giving Back!  Support our mentoring programme and make a difference today!

Support businesses from our community during these uncertain times on the Business Directory or add your business and be supported!

  • #Supportlocalcharities

DESMOS is a charity that supports so many other charities.  We would like to give back to them by sharing their important message with our network.  DESMOS supports more that 800 social organisations worldwide. Join their GivingTuesday initiative and give back!

Together for Children is a charity that supports families who have been financially affected by the effects of the pandemic and runs a campaign #MaziStisGiortes | Together for the holidays to offer the essentials for their holiday table.

Don't forget to share your act of kindness with us! Encourage other people to do something good with you! Click on the "Share your story" banner below to submit your story and we can share it to make others happy!
