St Catherine's supports OEED Volunteer Firefighters

Thank you all for supporting our firefighters, and a big thank you to the OEDD team for their activities with students on Giving Tuesday. Together we can make a difference!

Giving Tuesday was an amazing day for St Catherine's!

We have been keeping you updated over the past 10 days, about the progress of our whole school volunteer firefighters OEDD  fundraiser which has been supported by our community.

The launch day of the fundraiser on Tuesday 30th November saw brilliant sunshine throughout St Catherine's, so our children from Nursery to IB 2 could spend time in activities with the firefighters team.  It was a day that reminded us of how important it is to look after community, and join collectively for a good cause.

We all wore red in support of our real heroes! To date you have raised a fabulous total €19,079 today towards our goal!  Over the next coming weeks we ask you to join us to support  this cause to enable the firefighters to really help others!

I will not say we need a new small Emergency Responder vehicle, because as our Fire Chief says 'we are truly grateful for all contributions', but a new truck means really making a difference and reaching all those incidents their big truck cannot reach in record time.  This is why our target is €57,000, this challenge is a little bit bigger, thank you for playing a part and being an influencer in change!

This summer was scarey and too close for many of our community who live in the areas our volunteer firefighters protect: Ekali; Kifissia, Nea Erithea: Dionissos; Anoixi; Agios Stefano and Krioneri, to name a few. Join us in our challenge to help keep our firemen safe on the road too. We can do this together!

A huge THANK YOU to OEDD volunteer firefighters for coming on site for the whole day and spending the day with our students with fabulous activities that were not only educational, but also to understand what it means to be a volunteer, and to risk one's life as a fireman, to respect for what they do every day!   THANK YOU to all of our community for being so generous, not only donations but, with their time and supported the fundraiser, and helped us have a fabulous launch day

Thank you once again to the PTSA who support the school inititatives whole heartedly. And last but not least, all our amazing children who supported the fundraiser all day in their classrooms and with the fire team,....alongside the families. It was a true whole school effort!

Thank you so much!
