Sealing the Win – Football Triumph on the Final Day

The last day of competition brought the thrill of the football pitch — and St. Cats truly rose to the occasion.

Boys’ Team: 1st Place

Girls’ Team: 3rd Place

“Going into the football competition, as coaches, we had calculated how our performance on the pitch would translate into our final standings. Depending on the wins and losses of the day, we could either clinch first place or find ourselves in fourth, but we kept this information to ourselves so as not to add pressure to the team,” explained Nick Moustakas, Head of Extra-Curricular Sports.

“When the final goals went into the net, we may have celebrated just a bit harder than the athletes because we already knew that this meant the championship was ours."

These strong finishes pushed St. Catherine’s to the top of the overall leaderboard, securing our championship win at the COBIS Games 2025!

Celebrating Our Champions

This victory is more than a collection of medals — it’s a reflection of the dedication of our students, the guidance of our coaches, and the unwavering support of our school community.

From the first step in Lithuania to the cheers at the Athens airport upon their return — where flags, applause, and joyful reunions awaited — this journey has been nothing short of extraordinary. When our COBIS champions returned to school, they were greeted with cheers and proud teachers — but the sweetest surprise came in the form of ice cream!

To our student-athletes: thank you for inspiring us all and for showing the world what it means to be St. Cats.
