St Catherine's Musical Theatre presents "Mary Poppins Steps in Time" 

"In spring of 2020 the musical theatre group was working on a full production of Mary Poppins, however rehearsals had to be cut short due to Covid restrictions. Starting again in September of 2020, we found that the coronavirus pandemic affected the musical theatre group greatly as physical collaboration is an integral part of performing. While at first it was hard for the students to find motivation, we managed to reimagine the rehearsal process and were able to collaborate creatively online and once it was allowed, safely in person. Additionally, the students also faced challenges regarding the acting techniques that were needed for this performance, as not all students had the same level of training. Nevertheless, with a renewed energy and passion to create, both students and teachers worked twice as hard to create an inspiring and entertaining performance of 'Steps In Time' from Mary Poppins. Not to mention that the night shoot of the performance imitated a professional setting that boosted the confidence of these young performers, encouraging them to create something even better next year!
