Go Green on Giving Tuesday 29th November!
We are committed with our students to making the world a better place for today and tomorrow! Together we can Reach our Goals!
We promise to strive to use this opportunity to introduce ways every day to protect our planet, educate each other and make the 'new norm' our responsibility.
Giving Tuesday on the 29th November is a day when we also promote the importance of philanthropy to reach our goals!
Our eco projects are whole school, collective and inclusive to encourage all our staff and students to be part of POP22 (Protecting the Planet)
Our eco council work together across the whole school to introduce 'good practice' and share ways we can make a difference in our every day lives!
With your gift we will also have more resources to help make the students' projects a reality and bring about 'change' more effectively.
"Hello St Cats Community and welcome to the future of creating a greener school! Our goal is to make our school more environmentally friendly by setting achievable goals for ourselves and by spreading awareness. We are open to anybody wanting to join in our mission to help the planet. After all, we are part of one world, and we should fight to save it. "

I am absolutely delighted to see how the Go Green initiative is now really taking off at St Catherine’s! The Lower School Eco-Council has long been a driver for change in the school and there is no doubt that the “Greta Thunberg Effect” is now influencing our older students as well. It is also true that our new development project is also creating real opportunities to address some fundamental environmental and sustainability issues at the heart of our school of the future.
So I encourage you to get involved in any way you can – every little helps to make a huge impact! The future of our children and future generations depend on it.
"Our mission is to nurture environmental leaders, reduce our schools ecological impact, and build an environmentally responsible community."
The challenge has been set for St Catherine's to become a Plastic Clever school and the whole school community is ready to drive this forward. Positive, proactive, productive and Plastic Clever. Our mission is to nurture environmental leaders, reduce our schools ecological impact, and build an environmentally responsible community. The future of our children and future generations depend on it. We are striving to be as green and eco conscious as possible, after all sustainability sets the focus on our future. Have a look at what has taken place so far this school year...
Plastic Clever School Launch!
St Catherine's has become the first school in Greece to be part of the growing national community that has decided to take action in the reduction of single-use plastics, as well as becoming plastic smart.
Protecting our Planet Day 2022!
POP 22 was a super exciting day for KS3 students, just as we expected! The afternoon was bustling with guest speakers from our community, live streamed events, and an art recycling competition as well as a cool reflective pledge wall for all students.

Making sustainable change in our everyday life
Healthy Seas /Ghost Diving Day in Lower School!
One whole day together brought us a step closer to becoming a 'Plastic Clever' school! The whole of Lower School spent the day participating in fun educational activities that Healthy Seas and Ghost Diving organised on campus! We can all make a difference to our planet by reducing the amount of single-use plastics we use, becoming 'Plastic Clever' in the process. Five hundred students went on a journey to find out about ocean pollution through interactive games, presentations, the ghost gear phenomenon and how each of us can actively help protect the marine environment and its biodiversity!
Sustainable Halloween Decor!
In line with the St. Cat's Initiatives, Go Green & Plastic Clever School, BlueCycle generously donated ghost nets they collected that were used for decorating and helping our students learn about upcycling and the importance of the reduction of plastic waste. Thank you to BlueCycle and their research and our educational programme's patron, The Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation.
Meat Free Modays for Sustainable eating!
We support Meat Free Monday in Upper School by declaring Monday our 100 % meat free day of the week! In removing all meat from our hot healthy meals menu on Mondays, we joined the rising number of businesses, institutions and individuals in our shared mission to improve health and reduce our carbon footprint to the minimum.
Support our Go Green Fund!
