St Catherine's celebrates excellence one more time; let's give our graduates a St Cat's send off and wish them the best of luck for their start at university

We are delighted that after such a challenging end to their school careers our IB leavers are finally able to celebrate their success and embark on their university journey. The Class of 2021 will be studying at many of the finest universities gaining access to a variety of subject areas.

  • 100% of our students have had university offers after leaving Year 13 at the end of their academic studies.
  • 42% of the cohort achieved more than 40 points, and the average Diploma total was 38.1 points.
  • Panagiotis Sachinis and Lavinia Smith achieved the highest points of 45 in the IB exams this year and were presented with the Chairman's Award 2021 for Academic Excellence.
  • 61.4% of St Catherine’s graduates are going to attend the finest UK universities, 19.3% will excel in US and Canada top universities and another 19.3% will be expanding their horizons to become global leaders in well-reputed colleges and universities around Europe.

Students were  supported throughout their studying, coursework and exam preparation by their teachers and with course choices, career paths and applications by the Careers Department; there were one-to-one higher education interviews, a Virtual Careers Fair, and information sharing and caring on the application process. Regular careers advice was shared by parents, teachers and alumni from many different professions and pathways. Guidance on CV preparation, and how to shine at interviews was just part and parcel of the final years in IB.

Quoting one of our graduates who summed up what we strive to do everyday:

"St Catherine's has provided me with knowledge where it was lacking, a push when it was needed and, most importantly, the opportunity to find and chase my goals in my university of choice."

A., University of Edinburgh

When students complete their school academic journey, we always aim that when they leave us they take with them through a collaboration of family and school strong values, outstanding academic results and high-quality learning experiences. It is a great feeling when students dream of a university destination, course or field of study and then, through the support of their teachers, receive an offer from that university. St Catherine's graduates are starting undergraduate courses in a wide range of subjects this autumn, including Business Economics, Medicine, Engineering, Law, Design and Art, as well as one student who is off to Oxford University to study Japanese.  Well done and good luck to all our graduates!

Wherever they are going this autumn, we wish all our St Catherine's graduates all the very best as they begin this exciting new phase in their lives and we look forward to following their progress, achievements and successes in the years to come. Big congratulations to the students and their families and for all those who supported them in the process.

Please, find below the most updated list of the universities and courses that our graduates have embarked upon, some of whom have been in recent contact with us to keep in touch and join the Alumni Association, eager to help with our current cohort to support, just as they were, advise and offer tips from what they have learned. Our student destinations are always diverse reflecting the individual nature of our annual student cohort at St Catherine’s.  Have a great start of the year to all students, graduates, alumni and families!
